-게
Add -게 to the root of an adjective to create an adverb.
Basic Usage
Add to the root of adjectives
- Examples:
- 안전하다 (to be safe) → 안전하게 (safely)
- 빠르다 (to be fast) → 빠르게 (quickly)
- 조용하다 (to be quiet) → 조용하게 (quietly)
Describe the manner of action
- Example: 조용하게 말하세요
- “Speak quietly”

그는 and 그녀는 are most often used in songs and poems—not everyday speech. When you’re having a conversation, either use a person’s name, or just omit the pronoun.
